We put beginners in a medium shank. We don't want it too hard because a beginner's foot typically has a lot of work to do; however every foot is different and we need to look at the strength of the foot, and listen to the instructor's advice. Most instructors are not happy if we put the beginner in too soft of a shank--they want the dancer's foot to do the work to break in the shoe.

Is there any way to tell from the pointe shoe, what brand and style it is? Our dance supply store has closed and they kept a record of what style of shoe my daughter wore. I know they are Capezio, think they are Glisse or Glisse Pro. I need any help you can provide.
thanks!

Please e-mail a picture of the shoe if that is possible. The store will also contact you directly regarding specifications of each shoe to attempt to differentiate. Thanks so much for your inquiry.

Wondered if you could advise. My daughter is very interested in pursuing Pointe tap. Her birthday is coming up and we wanted to purchase a pair and surprise her but there is nowhere in our area that offers them. Most people say they didn't even know they existed. The Pointe shoes that she presently wears are Capezio Glisse Pro B7, Size 10 WW How would we go about deciding what T-Perina TA 11 size to order? Are there other Pointe Tap shoes out there?
